The Michigan Wolverines survived a tense showdown against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, winning 30–27 in their 2025 Big Ten opener on September 20.
Justice Haynes powered the Wolverines’ rushing attack with 149 yards and a 75-yard touchdown run, while Jordan Marshall added a 54-yard touchdown reception. Freshman QB Bryce Underwood contributed 105 passing yards, complementing Michigan’s dominant ground game.
Michigan’s defense sacked Nebraska seven times, with standout performances from Jaishawn Barham, Rayshaun Benny, and Derrick Moore. Sophomore Cole Sullivan recorded a sack, an interception, and six tackles, while true freshman Jayden Sanders added eight tackles in the secondary.
The victory boosts Michigan to 3–1 on the season and extends their winning streak over Nebraska to five games. With a mix of experienced players and emerging stars, the Wolverines are looking strong as they pursue Big Ten dominance this season.
